A Relaxing Long Easter Weekend

This Easter weekend was everything I needed and more—equal parts peaceful, adventurous, and filled with a little something special. I took full advantage of the extra time off and spent it doing what I love most: being outdoors, connecting with nature, and spending quality time with people who fill my cup.
The weekend started with some much-needed turkey scouting. There’s something about being out in the woods that instantly grounds me. The quiet hum of nature, the anticipation of spotting movement through the trees, the early morning chill—it’s like therapy for the soul. No pressure, just peaceful observation and soaking it all in.

After some time in the woods, I headed to Morehead City, NC—one of my favorite coastal towns. It felt like coming home. I wandered through all my favorite Big Rock spots, from the docks buzzing with excitement to the local shops that never fail to charm me. I visited some of the cutest boutiques, picking up a few treasures and chatting with shop owners who always greet you like an old friend. That’s the magic of small-town coastal life.

I also got to catch up with dear friends, the kind of people who make you laugh until your cheeks hurt and remind you how lucky you are to be surrounded by good souls. We swapped stories, shared meals, and watched the boats glide through the water. It was simple, but perfect. Afterwards I headed back inland to the woods... if I'm not on the water, you will find me in the forest.
This Easter weekend reminded me of the importance of slowing down. Life moves fast, but weekends like this—full of purpose, joy, and intention—remind me to pause and savor it all. The woods, the water, the laughter… it was all time well spent.
