Keeping Up Momentum: Writing, Photography, and the Drive to Capture More

Lately, I’ve been focusing on keeping up momentum—not just in my writing but, even more importantly, in my photography and videography. As I write about all of my 2024 adventures (in an effort to catch up!), I pause and I am amazed at where I have gone, the people I have met, the I have connections made and I can't help but be excited about what I will work on next. These creative pursuits are not only my passion but also the foundation of the future I’m building. The challenge isn’t just about staying motivated; it’s about constantly pushing the boundaries of what I can capture and share with the world. I am excited to see what the future holds as I work building an outdoor and wildlife focused media company.

Chasing New Goals in the Wild

One of my biggest upcoming goals is to film turkeys in their natural habitat during turkey hunting season. There’s something mesmerizing about these birds—the way they move through the woods, their cautious yet confident demeanor, and the striking beauty of their feathers illuminated by early morning light. My plan is to capture stunning footage that highlights their presence in the wild and submit my work to various wildlife publications. Sharing these moments through both video and photography allows me to blend storytelling with my deep appreciation for the outdoors.

Aiming for the Ultimate Fishing Shot

On the water, my next big target is capturing a marlin catch with my drone. A friend of mine sent some amazing drone footage of a marlin being reeled in and I want to be able to say one day, I did that. There’s no denying the thrill of watching a marlin burst from the ocean’s surface, its body twisting in the air, the sun catching the glint of its scales. Filming that moment—when power, precision, and pure adrenaline come together—is the kind of shot that speaks to the heart of sportfishing. My goal is to submit this footage to Marlin Magazine and other fishing publications, showcasing the intensity and beauty of offshore fishing.

The Power of Persistence

Maintaining momentum in creative work isn’t always easy, but it’s necessary. The more I push myself to film, edit, and refine my craft, the more doors open. Opportunities don’t come from waiting—they come from action. Whether it’s spending extra hours in the woods tracking turkeys or positioning my drone just right for the ultimate marlin shot, each effort is a step closer to turning vision into reality.
