Learning to fish and become a Lady Angler off the North Carolina Coast

So the last few years I have been trying to digest everything and anything I can about fishing inshore and offshore in the Topsail Island, NC area. You might be asking why? Ok, maybe your not asking why but I ask myself why several times a day. Especially when I am reading and I figure out that I have been doing something the wrong way for a minute. It's not easy swallowing your pride when a 15ish year old tells you that your casting wrong but to keep working at it because you will eventually break that bad habit.
So I am constantly asking myself why jump into something like fishing later in life? Why get addicted to having tight lines and sore arms? Truthfully, I wish I had been involved in the sport my whole life but you know, you can't change the past and it is always better late than never. So what got me started? I think it was when I went on a family fishing trip a few years ago that the fishing bug really bit and it bit hard. I think it was fighting my first big catch when it bit. Since then there has been no looking back and now I am moving into a direction where I really want to compete with other fisherman. Everything in time because there is much to learn and master, I really hope this summer and fall I get out there enough that I build my confidence up and can really hone in my skills. I would love to enter the Keli Wagner Lady Angler (KWLA) tournament one of these years.
Time and experience. That's all I know to do for now.
